Fly agaric toadstools...
We're pround to have gold level approval from the Devon Wildlife Trust. Click here for more on our environmental policies.
I guess it's September proper when bunches of toadstools start popping up on your lawn. These fly agaric are just by the house and pretty much sprang up over night. And maybe I've found out why they're called fly agaric - when I knelt down to take the photograph a cloud of tiny flies came out from under the cap.

I'm hoping it's going to be a good year for them, like 2006 when we first came. I guess it's the brighter side of rather autumnal weather!
