We welcome volunteers under the WWOOF scheme - World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. WWOOF is a membership organisation, so you'll need to sign up there to see our full details.

We usually ask you to do about 5 hours a day. Sometimes you'll be gardening in the polytunnel. Sometimes you'll learn skills like hedge laying. Sometimes it'll be more boring tasks - like pulling up nettles (we provide the gloves and the teabreaks!).

In summer we need help with general grounds maintenance. In winter we often have extensive projects like scrub-bashing, fencing and hedge laying.

If you have particular skills, for example in sustainable building, wildlife projects etc we'd love to hear from you. But any willing hands are appreciated.

We can host small groups, but we often have people on their own. You'll usually live in the house with us and the kids, so you need to be able to cope with family life. Sometimes winter WWOOFers, particularly groups, stay in the lodges. For summer months we have a small and basic caravan for those who like more independance. We're flexible about your time off, so you can take your weekend when the buses are running, and there are some good days out you can do on public transport. We can set you up with a push bike to borrow too.

If you have special food requirements please tell us when you enquire.
